ALTAR (2518 W. Armitage

Sunday, September 7

1 - 4 p.m.

Led by Somatic Intimacy Coaches & Embodiment Guides, Josephine Lauer and Reina Ludwick, this workshop is for anyone curious about self-development work, embodiment, Somatics, Sacred Sexuality and just learning new ways to connect with one’s Self and other humans in more intimate, authentic and vulnerable ways.

In our hyper-connected world, it's easy to lose track of ourselves. We're bombarded with notifications, expectations, and the constant pressure to "be available." But what about your needs? What about the space you need to breathe, to feel, to truly connect?

We believe that intimacy is cultivated first from within; embodiment helps us listen to the innate wisdom of our body. We develop a practice called “Somatic Awareness” so we have an understanding of Self first, before we engage in connecting with others.

Somatic Awareness: Listening to Your Body's Wisdom.

  • Your body holds a wealth of information, sensations, signs and signals; we are often too stuck in our thoughts tho to truly “listen” to the body

  • Somatic practices, like mindful breathing, body scans, or gentle movement, can help you tune into these signals.

  • When you pay attention to your body, you can better understand your emotions, identify stress patterns, and make choices that support your well-being.

Boundaries: Your Personal Compass.

  • Think of boundaries as healthy fences, not impenetrable walls. They define where you end and another person begins.

  • They're about knowing your limits – what you're comfortable with emotionally, physically, and energetically.

  • Setting boundaries isn't selfish, it's self-preservation. It allows you to show up more authentically in your relationships.

  • We practice communicating our boundaries because so many of us are ‘people-pleasers’ and have a hard time maintaining healthy boundaries

Intimacy: Beyond the Physical.

  • True intimacy is about vulnerability, trust, and deep connection.

  • It's INTO-ME-SEE: it’s about being seen and accepted for who you are, flaws and all. It’s about being witnessed without judgement.

  • It's cultivated through open communication, shared experiences, and a willingness to be present - this is what we curate, cultivate and experience together in CONNECTION, the group workshop

CONNECTION isn't about merging with another person; it's about two whole individuals coming together for a shared experience. When you listen to your body, honor your boundaries, and communicate your authentic desires to experience intimacy, you can create the space for truly meaningful and authentic relationships. In CONNECTION, we explore various techniques and practices to assist you with living an authentic life and cultivating deep intimacy with others, including:

  • Guided Meditation & Breath Work

  • Embodied Movement & Somatic Pilgrimage

  • Somatic Awareness & Somatic Attunement - “I’m Feeling, I’m Noticing”

  • Eye Gazing

  • Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent - Take, Allow, Give, Receive

  • Boundaries and Desires

  • Conscious Communication

  • Intimacy: Beyond the Physical

  • Various Forms of Touch
